List 10 words that are related to making movies. Explain the meaning of each word.

1.    Action Cutting:
The cutting of film from one shot to another in a way yielding the impression that action is continuous and uninterrupted.

2.    Aliasing:
An undesirable distortion component that can arise in any digitally encoded information (sound or picture).

3.    Ambient noise:
The total sound in a given are which is peculiar to that space (room tone).

4.       White noise:
A signal having an equal amount of energy per hertz.

5.       Whip:
A section of feeder cable siamesed off the main line to a secondary location.

6.       Trailer:
A short publicty film which advertises a film or forthcoming presentations.

7.       Timing:
The process of selecting the printing values for color and density of successive scenes in a complete film in order to produce a desired visual effect

8.       Spot:
On a lensed light, the smallest beam spread.

9.       Spool:
A flanged roll on which film is wound for general handling or projection.

10.   Gate:
The aperture assembly at which the film is exposed in a camera, printer, or projector.
